feyd-rautha harkonnen;
house harkonnen
about;
Keeping Villeneuve film canon, leaning on the FH books as possible. The world of the books and films of Dune is a far future where humanity is ruled by a feudal empire and the noble houses holding it up, scattered across planets in the known universe. The most important of these is Arrakis, the titular Dune, source of the drug spice. With advanced computers banned across the empire, interstellar travel is only made possible by the mind-bending spice, among other uses. House Harkonnen has built its wealth and brutal reputation in the mining of spice.
Feyd-Rautha, like the Dune protagonist Paul Atreides, is the product of a millenias-long breeding program organized by the Bene Gesserit secret society. The Bene Gesserit planned to breed Feyd to a daughter of House Atreides, a plan rerouted by the Atreides birthing a son. This union would have a high probability of becoming the long planned Kwisatz Haderach, a being to see the past and all possible futures. As a result of this genetic manipulation, Feyd-Rautha also bears budding prescient abilities similar to Paul. Unlike Paul, Feyd had no Bene Gesserit mother to nurture these abilities, so they are very minor.
Born to the exiled younger brother of ruling Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, brothers Glossu Rabban and Feyd-Rautha were forcibly taken under his wing on the Harkonnen homeworld. He first groomed the much older Rabban as a worthy successor. With Rabban's lack of cunning and bestial rage, the Baron became more enamored with Feyd. It is known the child murdered his mother, further labeling him psychotic.
Being raised under the Baron has fueled Feyd-Rautha's defining vanity, resilience, and cruelty. Harkonnen culture impresses survival above all, a cold and polarized worldview. With a charisma seeded in the gladiatorial arena, he is an advanced fighter and tactician. Where he cannot be envied or praised, he will take fear. The fearful are despised, proof that heβs alone on the backs of lesser men. He genuinely enjoys challenge and self-reliance, even at great risk to himself. Feyd is noted by the Bene Gesserit as a sadomasochistic sociopath, yet not without an honor of personal definition. He does show the capacity for respect and even admiration, especially for the ferocious and fearless. appearance;
Residents of the Harkonnen homeworld Giedi Prime live under a black sun, the cultureβs color of purity. This desaturates their environment and leaves them in a washed out, black and white world. Even his blue eyes look a haunting black in the sunlight. By some combination of the cruel rays of this sun and their widespread pollution, most residents born or raised early on Giedi Prime have virtually no hair and very pale skin. This hairlessness is glorified by the inhabitants as a symbol of further purity. Six feet tall and honed for the arena, Feyd-Rautha revels in his appearance, painting himself in geometric black paint for the gladiatorial matches and blackening his teeth. He is scarred by his training and childhood, obscured by the paleness of his skin and that rich space people medical care.
skills;
ClairvoyanceBred to father the Kwisatz Haderach, he has heightened but untrained prescient dreams and a strong will against manipulation.
WarriorAn adept fighter honed in the arena, he favors overwhelming his opponent with rapid attack, often employing knives.
SABOTageHouse Harkonnen is rich in poison needles and blades, a standard practice at home and in battle.
IntellectWith a ruthless intelligence vested in them through generations, Feyd-Rautha and his uncle are both considered formidable.
NobilityWhile given to being monstrous, he is capable of behaving as a patient diplomat, only for as long as it serves him.
seeking;
GenCanonmates are very welcomeβfilling in missing scenes, playing out alternate events, exploring enemies, gray areas, and alliances. For example, different outcomes to fights, extended exposure to spice, etc. Glad to play closer to the book if requested.
Feyd has much to say and play with his Atreides mirror Paul. In another life they would have had a super-baby and in this one they're clawing to be the One (as if Feyd could have pulled off being a special boy, please). The Bene Gesserit would spook him, but he's got a touch of radical acceptance for danger he can't divert or overcome. Jessica, Irulan, and Margot are great for exploring that. Irulan is also a path to the throne, so there's some power struggle there. Any Fremen could be neat with his actual interest and high regard for their abilities.
Tough to pull off redemption arc, but thereβs other growth to be had. Where he once was a fairly normal child (with hair, even), heβs well past βchildhood bad, needs to talk about feelingsβ. He is confident in his lifestyle.

Pursues women most often, but OTA if it fits. Paul is great as a slow burn, a lot of crossed wires with kinship and murder-want.
So far as canon partners, he usually has the most chemistry for fem!Paul and Margot Fenring (
call him). Also welcome are canon!Paul, Irulan, Alia, Shishakli, and Chani, open to feeling out others, canon, cross-canon, or OCs.
Gray area, one-sided, UST, hate-sex, codependence, unhealthy infatuation, hate to love to bigger hate, they're all great. He's a narcissistic sociopathβlove is conditional and based on utility, even if he's not always conscious of the incompleteness of it. Per the Bene Gesserit's assessment, sex is a road to manipulate him, especially sadomasochism. He is suspicious, so exploiting that can be harder than Margot makes it look.

TriggersCreepy Uncle; In the books, his uncle is explicitly a CSA-er. The author was homophobic and conflated it with CSA, so weβre not doing that. Vladimir is creepy and violent with his nephews in the movies out of sadism and narcissism, so weβll stick with that. Feyd has definitely had a parade of abusive experience, but nothing will be described graphically unless plotted.
SA; Regarding Feyd himself, he is not hiding a who-hurt-you babygirl trope under there. His House culture has major non-consent D/S going on and while he likes worship and reciprocation, majority of his sex life has been dubious consent at best. At best. SA won't be used for shock or actioned unless it's meme specific or plotted, likely off-screen. If there's any elements of his behavior that need to be avoided, let me know.
